Description:
Although the park is called by the general name Alameda, it consists of three different parts: Paseo da Alameda, Carballeira ("oak grove" in Galician) de Santa Susana and Paseo da Ferradura. The resulting park has, since the 19th century, been the most important reference point for walks and leisure for Santiago's residents; it is characterised by its pleasant atmosphere, as a kind of natural salon in Santiago de Compostela (La Coruña, Galicia).
Hours of Daylight:

Climate:
The humid oceanic climate guarantees mild temperatures throughout the year. The annual mean temperature is around 15 o C, with an average of 8 o C in winter and a pleasant summer with temperatures ranging from 20 to 27ºC. Most of the rain falls in winter, with variable amounts in spring and autumn.
Geolocation:

ARCHITECTURE/HISTORY/CULTURE

Geographical Environment:
It has a privileged location, bordering with a part of the old town and with a magnificent view of its west façade, which is the most monumental one.
Filmed Productions:
- 'El lápiz del carpintero' (Antón Reixa, 2003)
- 'Ilegal' (Ignacio Vilar, 2003)
- 'La promesa' (Héctor Carré, 2004)
- 'Somne' (Isidro Ortiz, 2005)
- 'Onde está a felicidade?' (Carlos Alberto Riccelli, 2011)
Historical-Cultural Context:
It dates back to the donation of the land to the city by the Count of Altamira, in the mid-16th century. The Garden is described as 'pacego' (applied to ancestry country houses in Galicia, "Pazos") due to its role as a leisure area for the city, in the same manner of the leisure gardens of Galician Pazos.
