Vitoria-Gasteiz Film Office summarises their activity in the previous year

Vitoria-Gasteiz Film Office attended a total of 46 audiovisual productions throughout the past year, of which 30 of them were materialised in full or in part, which means an increase of 57 % compared to the activity of the previous year.  

Altogether, all these audiovisual productions reached a total of 110 days of shooting, generating an approximate direct economic impact of 1.500.000 € in the city and in the Territory of Álava.

The variety of locations, the administrative ease and flexibility, in relation with shooting permits management and an increasingly consolidated audiovisual sector have contributed to strengthen the position of Vitoria-Gasteiz / Araba as a setting of any kind of shootings.

All these data is translated into a quantitative and qualitative growth in the territory, since the rise of shooting days in the city have contributed to a significant increase in expenditure and a direct employment impact in the audiovisual sector and in companies that derive from it.

Among the shootings carried out in the city, it is worth mentioning the shooting of 6 feature films: 4 documentaries and 2 fiction feature films; “El Silencio de la Ciudad Blanca” of Daniel Calparsoro and produced by Rodar y Rodar and Atresmedia Cine and “La Pequeña Suiza” of Kepa Sojo, produced by Kuttuna Filmak and Nadie es Perfecto Films. 

Advertising also focused on our territory and, in all, 9 advertising spots were performed last year, highlighting brands such as Mercedes, which filmed in Alava’s different roads and locations, Alavés, Fundación Vital and Banco Sabadell among others.

7 Short films, 2 music videos, and 6 TV programmes such as “Un país mágico” and “Ciudades de noche” had the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz as an important character in their projects.

Furthermore, Vitoria-Gasteiz Film Office continues its commitment with the local audiovisual sector creating initiatives, actions and synergies in order to consolidate it. Therefore, year by year within the TV Festival of Vitoria-Gasteiz, FesTVal, organises and hosts a Professional Day and manages the Audiovisual Project’s Grants of the City Council, where every year around 10 projects in different production stages are subsidised.
