The Crown wins the Spain Film Commission FITUR SCREEN Award for the best international audiovisual production
The British series "The Crown" will be recognized with the Spain Film Commission FITUR SCREEN Award for the best international production shot in Spain. The Andalucía Film Commission presented the candidacy of this Netflixs historical drama for having chosen the community to shoot part of its third and fourth seasons.
"The Crown" is one of Netflix's most ambitious series, describing the long reign of Queen Elizabeth II and the adventures of her family. Since it was launched in 2016 it has been seen by more than 100 million households around the world, according to Netflix statistics published in January 2020.
In 2019 the production moved part of its filming to Spain for its third season and, due to the good result, it also returned for the fourth season. Among other chosen locations are:

In 2019 Spain Film Commission created an award to recognize national or international productions filmed in Spain which show the different locations of the country, involved and hired Spanish companies and professionals and have a great impact throughout the world.
In 2019 and 2020, the series “La peste” by Atípica Films for Movistar + and “La Casa de Papel” by Vancouver Media for Netflix were awarded at FITUR SCREEN, the initiative that Spain Film Commission and IFEMA have at the International Tourism Trade Fair.
In the third edition "The Crown" -produced by Left Bank Pictures and Sony Pictures Television for Netflix, with the collaboration of Palma Pictures- competeted with the series "Hierro" and "Antidisturbios" and films like "Ane", among others. The award ceremony will be held on Friday, May 21st at an event attended by representatives of Netflix and the Andalucía Film Commission at FITUR SCREEN.
