SPAIN FILM COMMISSION WILL LEAD FIVE STRATEGIC PROJECTS WITHIN THE PLAN "SPAIN, EUROPEAN AUDIOVISUAL HUB"

The non-profit entity, which represents thirty Film Commissions and Film Offices of the State, will manage five million euros in the next three years to promote the positioning of Spain as a preferred destination for international audiovisual production, strengthening, at the same time, Spanish industry and the work of independent producers, creators and national actors and actresses

Yesterday the Council of Ministers approved a Royal Decree for the granting of this economic aid, linked to the European Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which establishes among its priorities the promotion of the audiovisual ecosystem of our country.

SFC will develop five projects which respond to the challenge of favoring and encouraging Spain's potential for VOD studios and production companies in innovative areas such as talent, virtual reality and the application of new technologies, while fostering present initiatives such as “Shooting in Spain".

Spain Film Commissions President, Carlos Rosado, considers this decision an endorsement of the experience and track record of the entity and of the entire network of Film Commissions and Film Offices of the State. He is convinced that the audiovisual industry in all its formats (cinema, series, documentaries, advertising, video games, animation...) go through an extraordinary moment that requires strong commitment and private and public collaboration to reach the objectives of the Plan “Spain - Audiovisual Hub of Europe ”

SFC has worked with the Government and the group of agents of the audiovisual sector in the definition of the Plan and will keep on working to reinforce the framework of positive, reciprocal and stable relationships with all government agencies and entities (Ministries of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Culture and Sports, Treasury and Finance and Public Administration, ICEX, SETUR) to make the Plan “Spain, Audiovisual Hub of Europe” a reality with a positive impact on all communities, cities and territories of Spain.
