Javier Aguirresarobe has received by Isabel Oliver, the State Secretary for Tourism, the distinction of Spain Film Commission’s Honorary Ambassador for its successful professional career as photography director.

This event took place in the Fitur Screen area (IFEMA’s pavilion 4) and started with the introduction of Spain Film Commission’s president, Carlos Rosado, who has highlighted that “Javier is considered the most important Spanish photography director internationally. He has been awarded with six Goya Awards and this designation as Ambassador intends to spotlight the talent of the Spanish professionals, key elements to attract international shootings. The photography directors have the challenging commitment to bring the best out of the chosen shooting locations. The support of the Spanish government and SETUR to Spain Film Commission’s strategy to capitalize all the shootings that take place in Spain is used to position the country as a preferential international shooting destination. We are preparing the 2nd edition of Shooting in Spain, SPAIN-USA, which will take place in Spain during the first semester of the present year with the support of SFC’s honorary ambassador, James Costos”.

Aguirresarobe thanked this acknowledgment and highlighted the role of the Spanish audio-visual professionals: “Spain is an amazing setting, but there’s a point that I would like to emphasize: the capacity and intelligence of the Spanish technicians, who end up being indispensable collaborators in a shooting project. It’s going to be an easy and stimulating task to spread that Spain, besides of being a great country, is a country with very talented, ingenious, well-formed and positive people”.

This event has been closed by Isabel Oliver, State Secretary for Tourism, who has emphasized the need to keep working together on positive actions for the tourism and cinema industries in Spain, where the human factor is fundamental to keep attracting international productions”.

Javier Aguirrasarobe is a member of the Spanish Association of Photography Directors and Spain Film Commission, joining James Costos, first SFC ambassador, to this labor of spreading the advantages of shooting in Spain, not only promoting its locations, but making the quality of its audio-visual industry and its professionals known.
