Industry filming maintains its activity throughout the State

10/28/2020

The Governmental Decree 926/2020, of October 25th, as well as the Orders approved by the autonomous communities and cities to control the advance of COVID19, guarantee the continuation of audiovisual production throughout the country as it constitutes an economic and professional activity.

The new decreed measures do not affect film shootings between 23:00 and 06:00 hours. Crews and professionals are still allowed to travel and work between communities, cities and municipalities with the only condition to have a mobility certificate related to work reasons provided and signed by either the producer or the production company.

  • Filming safely in Spain is possible and it is already happening: it is an essential requirement to respect and comply with all the recommendations and indications of the competent authorities in the field of occupational safety and health. Companies are required to have a specific protocol that meets the needs of each production.
  • Spain Film Commission asks the competent institutions to facilitate the granting of permits in order to be able to film in public spaces. We also request more agility in the visas to respond effectively and efficiently to the demands of the international audiovisual market.
  • The association, which brings together Film Commissions and Film Offices from all over the State, highlights the "good moment" that the filming industry is going through in Spain, motivated by the demand for content and the rise of streaming platforms, and is committed to public-private collaboration for the development of an audiovisual hub with the Spain brand and the vocation to attract and manage large international productions.

Spain Film Commission vindicates the potential of film shootings to create quality employment and contribute to economic recovery in this difficult context. In this sense, we ask for an institutional commitment to transmit a clear message of confidence and security to the national and international audiovisual industry.

On November 13th, the Spain Film Commission will organize a webinar within the framework of the American Film Market entitled "Shooting in Spain" presented by Tour Spain. It will be a good opportunity to show Spain's position as a preferred destination for the audiovisual market due to its locations, tax incentives and its professionals.
