On the 19th September, there was a meeting of the Technical Commission of the new monographic section Cine-Screen Tourism that is going to take place in the following Fitur edition, from the 23rd to the 27th January.

As it was agreed the past 25th July between Eduardo López Puertas (general director of IFEMA) and Carlos Rosado (president of the Spain Film Commission), in the next Fitur edition there is going to be a monographic section dedicated to Cinema and Tourism: the Fitur Cine-Screen Tourism, which is going to have an own exhibition area, as well as a B2B space and an area destinated to the celebration of a conference cycle, organised by the Spain Film Commission.

During the meeting celebrated on the 19th September by the Technical Commission to organise this space, they laid the foundations for this activity. Shortly, they will communicate how they are going to organise this monographic section and the activities that they are going to develop during the fair.

Cine-Screen Tourism in Fitur 2019 entails a great opportunity to promote the destinations, boost the visits to these places, diversify the touristic offer and combat seasonality. In this sense, Eduardo López-Puertas noted that Fitur Cine-Screen Tourism “means a huge step forward in the commitment to integrate vertical sectors to Fitur that represent jobs, business and industrial development for the tourism industry”. Besides, he says that it is very important to be able “to create touristic packages of these destinations related with both industries” to make it easier to visit these places that the audiences have seen on the screen previously. On his part, Carlos Rosado highlights that “Audiovisual shootings generate wealth and jobs”, and he finishes saying that “cinema induces tourism”.
