Spain Film Commission will return this May to the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) to demonstrate the value that the alliance with the audiovisual industry can have in the reactivation of the sector after the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, within the section dedicated to film tourism, it will present the Spain Screen Grand Tour project, in which visitors will be able to visit numerous Spanish locations where some of the most recognized films and series have been filmed.

In the last five years the number of people traveling to a place they have seen on the screen before has doubled. In addition, according to a study by TCI Research, 80 million travelers choose their destination based on movies and television series. A reality that shows how the alliance between both industries can decisively contribute to their reactivation after the Covid-19 crisis.

The Fitur Screen section –which takes place at FITUR from May 18 to 23, at IFEMA MADRID- Spain Film Commission will also emphasize the enormous contribution that audiovisual works filmed in our country have in positioning the Spain brand throughout the world. For this reason, this new edition will seek to strengthen the loyalty of Spanish locations as a destination for international filming.

Fitur Screen will be sponsored by Netflix, which since 2016 has promoted productions throughout Spain, bringing viewers from more than 190 countries closer to the diversity and richness of regions such as Andalusia, Cataluña, Galicia, Aragón, the Balearic Islands, Navarra or the Canary Islands. In addition, Netflix continues to strengthen its commitment to Spanish audiovisual fiction with the recent expansion of its Tres Cantos production center in Madrid, which opened two years ago.
