Fitur Screen 2019
FITURs next edition will count with a special space dedicated to cinema and tourism: FITUR Cine.
As IFEMA and Spain Film Commission already accorded on the 25th July during the meeting between Eduardo López Puertas (CEO of IFEMA) and Carlos Rosado (president of Spain Film Commission) that in FITURs next edition there is going to be a monographic section dedicated to cinema and tourism, FITUR Cine-Screen Tourism will come with its own exhibition area, a B2B space and a zone dedicated to the celebration of meetings and conferences organized by SFC.
Cine-Screen Tourism in FITUR 2019 supposes a great opportunity to promote the destination, boost the visits to these places, diversify the touristic offer and fight seasonality. For that matter, Eduardo López-Puertas points out that Fitur Cine-Screen Tourism “means a step forward in the intent to integrate vertical sectors to FITUR that provide jobs, business opportunities and growth of the tourism industry”. It is also very important being able “to make packages of these destinations related to these industries” to ease the visit of these enclaves that viewers have already seen on the screen. On the other hand, Carlos Rosado has highlighted that “the audio-visual shootings generate economy and jobs” and that “cinema induces to tourism”.
Therefore, with initiatives likes this, Spain Film Commission pretends to bridge the gap between the audio-visual and touristic industries and continues positioning the country as a destination for international shootings.
